ARTISTRY _MDW’26

29 Apr 2026

Artistry takes shape from the integration of design, engineering and project identity. Rigorous attention to detail guides the evolution of the design: materials, systems and technology give rise to a new architectural freedom, in a quest for the sublime in which rigor and material depth build the intensity of space. Continuity runs through the rooms, connecting woods, metals, glass and stones in a calibrated chromatic sequence of opaque, reflective and layered surfaces. Thresholds dissolve, passages integrate, perspectives open into unexpected depths.

Artistry

At Milan Design Week 2026, Modulnova presents Artistry: the new design language in which materials, technological research and engineering converge into a single architectural concept of space. Artistry represents an evolution of Modulnova’s design culture, a synthesis in which design, materials and engineering come together in a coherent and distinctive language. Born from the continuous research conducted by Modulnova on materials, technology, and design, Artistry expresses the desire for experimentation without losing the artistic sensibility that recognizes an expressive depth to matter.

Technique translates into precision and compositional freedom, while design takes shape through a rigorous dialogue between intuition, knowledge and executive discipline. In this vision, space is shaped through volumes, surfaces and lights that intertwine in an architectural continuity that generates harmony, perceptual fluidity and well-being. Artistry thus interprets the project as a cultured and identifiable expression, where experimentation is translated into design, function and beauty.

Matter, systems and continuity

Research, matter, engineering in continuous evolution. An identity that takes shape in the architecture of space, where emotion enters the design as part of its construction. Continuity runs through the rooms, connecting woods, metals, glass, and stone in a calibrated color sequence of opaque, reflective, and layered surfaces. Thresholds dissolve, passages integrate, perspectives open to unexpected depths. Twenty Lab presents Travertine Titanium, a layered and deep material that holds the memory of the earth. The color develops in warm shades, between mineral grays and brown tones. In the base units, the new three-dimensional Graf finish introduces a depth to the kitchen system that was previously reserved for paneling, making the material more legible and architectural. The Peltrox groove etches the stone volume and redefines its design. The top with integrated basin is made of honed Travertine Titanium. From the stone block extends the Square snack, veneered in Caramel Oak, suspended and 1 cm thick, hooked through an invisible structure integrated within the island. On the wall, the kitchen is in Travertino Titanium Graf, while the slatted back is in honed Travertino Titanium. On it, two Wall elements run along the wall. Full-height Blade Edge columns amplify storage, integrate into the volume of the space, and introduce the new Regency Dust metal finish.

Architecture of Identity

The new design language in which materials, technological research and engineering converge into a single architectural concept of space.

AtelierThe culture of manufacturing boiserie evolves into a system: the surface becomes design, the design becomes architecture. The Atelier system, here in Caramel Arc Oak and made with an aluminum honeycomb structure, introduces sartorial workmanship capable of constructing textures in relation to the space, its proportions, and the volumes that traverse it. The steps generate an open grammar, from which arise vertical, horizontal lines, geometric fields and more complex configurations for paneling, doors and passage doors. The large boiserie wall also develops in continuity on the corner, giving shape to a compact and continuous architectural surface. Into this construction fits the 180 cm Bilico door, with rebates on two sides, designed to prevent the passage of light and integrate into the design with absolute precision.

ART Soft

The ART system interprets the island as an architectural presence carved into the material.

Apennine Marble defines its volume through compact surfaces and a constructive continuity in which the plane, side and front meet at forty-five degrees, giving shape to a single material block crossed by thin millings that mark the surface. The edges of the stone structure are machined with continuous radii, radius 5 mm, consistent with the language of the project. The new Soft door brings this principle to the center of the composition and more clearly develops its formal and tactile value. The internal structure is made of aluminum honeycomb, while the Canaletto Walnut ARC veneer is complemented by a solid wood edge of the same essence, worked with continuous radiusing.

It is this detail that defines the character of the door: the profile is rounded with precision, the light flows more gradually, and the front acquires a softer, calibrated, material presence. Between the door and the stone structure, a 10-millimeter spacer draws a shadow line that lightens the mass of the marble and restores a perception of suspension to the front. The top features a 1.5-centimeter drop that accommodates the hob and tub, transforming function into a discreet sign within the surface. Matter, technology and workmanship thus converge in a single design gesture, where construction detail becomes architectural language.

Soft Bookcase

The Soft bookcase is configured as an architectural wall in which structure, matter and light build a continuous spatial rhythm. The structural “C”-shaped uprights are completely integrated and hidden in the Moonlight Dust metal backs. The structure thus disappears into the surface, transforming into an essential sequence of vertical and horizontal marks. Soft shelves in Canaletto Walnut ARC introduce a warm and natural material presence. Their rounded profile recalls the geometry of the Soft door and establishes a formal continuity that runs through the entire project. The lighting builds a theatrical atmosphere. The light, entrusted to integrated point spotlights hidden from view, selectively intervenes on the vertical compartments. Upward and downward emission generates light variations that enhance the depth of the surfaces defining a sequence of light and shadow.
